China's Humanoid Robots Mass Production with 'Brains' by 2025"China's Humanoid Robots Mass Production with 'Brains' by 2025"

Introduction

As you know that Chinese industrial production capacity has been increased multi fold in last few years, China has proved this many times in a row that Chinese can produce stuffs in factory better then any place on earth with rapid fast speed and innovation, this time the same rapid fire production will be seen but in the field of robotics and AI as the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT)  has issues a direction for the countries industries to come up with a plan to create a system to produce robotics with utmost innovative technological advancement and more over the production line must be so massive and fast that these robots can be produce in largest number possible.

According to the new report the production line must be fully set up by 2025 and should be world leader by 2027 which seems like a dream as of now but who know may be the dictator ship can achieve it.

The MIIT’s Call for Innovation:

Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is aiming to produce humanoid robots from these country wide productions lines the actual plan is to create an eco-system where production lines and factories will be set up in same manner as FMCG production lines like toys or utensils where manufacture is so easy that almost every one can work in a factory and start production.

MIIT is looking to set up a supply chain and production line where the production capacity will be achieved like any other day today product but for the humanoid robots.

The Quest for Artificial ‘Brains’

If you understand how robotics work then you will realize that there is always a CPU which works as central brain and the mechanical part become limbs for any robot so in the advisory issues by the MIIT the cerebellum will be centralized and the limbs which are basically the humanoid robots manufactured by the various manufactures in China will have a collaboration where the humanoid will be controlled by the central brain.

The plan seems like this there will be central control authority for humanoid which will control all the robots produced by various factories in China.

Usability in Harsh Conditions

In the primary report it is advised to make such humanoid robots which can sustain harsh environment which clearly means that they will be used in army! Now what is cooking here? China is looking to manufacture hundreds of thousands of robots that must be all terrain robots? Are they planning for a massive ground attack on some country?

Or they will be used in police force or may be in firefighting situation?

International Competition and Armament

If you compare Chinese ambition with USA current robotics industry then you will find that there is one major industry player called Boston dynamics which is already in the process of making many types of robot like spot which  looks like a dog but can be fitted with a machine gun at the back of it and it can walk and outrun any other robot and sustain in any harsh ground as it has 4 legs and walks alike a dog which gives him an edge on balancing and stability.

China has a long way to go to compete with USA in terms of technology but when it comes for mass production China can easily defeat any country easily on planet earth.

Challenges and Ethical Considerations:

We are in an era of robotics and AI which is at its primary stage, there is a lot to be studied and discussed about how we can use robotics with in the ethical limits. Now the question arise is if China aims to achieve such high numbers in production for robotics how can it achieve it without by-passing ethics for bad?

Conclusion

This news of Chinese MIIT advisory for Chinese manufactures raises so many questions about its actual objectives like why Chinese gov wants such large number of robots and how they will be made and once they are made in astronomical numbers then how they will be deployed and for what purpose?

What would be the actual objective of such humanoid robot’s army? Military? Police.

What ever the chines gov is thinking one thing is for sure that the achieving such a monumental level of production lines for such an advance technology will be a dream come true for the manufactures and entire world can learn and study it and use for other uses and purposes.

1. What exactly is the Chinese government’s plan regarding super advance humanoid walking robots, and why does it feel so ambitious?

The Chinese government aims to achieve mass production of humanoid robots by 2025 and to set it self as a global leader by year 2027 in the field of robotics and AI. This ambitious plan seeks to establish an innovation system and make breakthroughs in key technologies to ensure the safe and effective supply of core components for these robots.

2. What is meant by the development of the “brain,” “cerebellum,” and “limbs” of humanoid robots?

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is looking for advancements of AI and cognitive bias that means the Gov will develop and AI brain to take crucial decision the brain will be under control of Chinese Gov and the Chinese industry which will be countrywide will manufacture thousands of such robots in this way they will have an army of robot which will be at the disposal of Chinese gov.

3. How will these humanoid robots be used in “harsh” and dangerous conditions, and what are the potential applications?

The MIIT’s advisory doesn’t give much detail on the conditions, but past experiences with firefighters and police robots indicate that the focus will be on infrastructure and lifesaving applications. Fire fighter robots can be used, police academy robots, army robots.

4. How does China’s initiative compare to efforts in the United States regarding robotic technology and military applications?

It’s not just China that wants humanoid robots. Many nations are investing in advanced robotic technology for military and civilian purposes. There’s a lot of competition in this field between China and the U.S.; each country has its own strengths and areas of focus. China and the U.S. are both developing ‘killer robot’ warships and fighter jets.

5. is there any ethical issue related to this development?

Advances in humanoid robots pose ethical concerns about autonomous decision-making in military applications and the potential displacement of humans. By promoting responsible robotics and emphasizing ethical considerations in their development, organizations like Boston Dynamics are actively addressing these concerns.

These FAQs provide a concise summary of key points from the article and can help address common questions that readers may have about China’s ambitious robotics initiative.
